UK trend seems towards improving rather than moving

According to consumer research it seems that UK property owners are preferring to improve their current property rather than up sticks and move elsewhere.

A survey undertaken by Rated People suggests that in 2015 UK homeowners are planning to spend at total of £24.3 billion on home improvements and various DIY jobs, something that the “experts” are saying may well be down to rocketing house prices.

Of those surveyed, those planning on carrying out aesthetic alterations accounted for 47% of consumers questioned, whilst 46% intend to redecorate, though it also uncovered that 56% of respondents failed to carry out the home improvements and DIY work they  had planned to do during 2014.
