How Do You Request A FENSA Certificate Online?
When scouting out home improvement companies for the latest replacement windows and doors, property owners want to find a firm that they can trust implicitly to provide quality products and installation.
You know that you’re guaranteed this when selecting Hazlemere as we are well-established members of FENSA (Fenestration Self Assessment Scheme) and have been since the scheme was created in 2002.
For those who don’t know, FENSA is an industry body that provides homeowner protection in the double glazing industry for double glazed windows and doors.
To retain FENSA membership we must continuously demonstrate that we are working to exceptionally high standards and complying with current thermal performance standards and Building Regulations, otherwise our membership can be revoked.
FENSA certificates
Since 1st April 2002, you require a FENSA certificate for any replacement windows and doors installed by a FENSA member. This shows that any work carried out obeys by the necessary obligations.
Unless the work has been completed via a FENSA member it is your responsibility to register the installation with your local authority.
It will save you a lot of time, money and effort to appoint a FENSA registered installer as they will register the installation on your behalf and FENSA will then issue a certificate confirming this.
This certificate should be stored away safely as you will need it if you ever decide to sell your property as it will be requested by the solicitor of the buyer. Failure to locate it and hand it over will delay any sale.
Don’t worry though if you have misplaced it. An original or new FENSA certificate can be obtained (for a small fee) via the FENSA website from the following page: https://forms.fensa.org.uk/fensa-certificate. FENSA’s phone number is 020 7645 3700 in case you want to contact them.
If the installation was properly registered by the relevant installer, all details of it will come up after you have submitted your details online.
Whilst we do not issue FENSA certificates ourselves, we’re always happy to answer any questions you may have in relation to them, part of our duty as a FENSA member.
