How To Turn Your Home Into A Romantic Setting For Valentine’s Day
Do you have something romantic lined up for your partner this Valentine’s Day? With just two days to go until it’s here, we would hope that you have!
Perhaps you’ve booked a table at your favourite restaurant or you’re having a stopover for the night at the hotel where you enjoyed your first getaway together.
Maybe you’re keeping things more low-key and simpler, but just as lovey-dovey, by having a Valentine’s Night in at home.
It’s not too late for you to do the same if you haven’t yet organised anything or bought a present.
Get a Valentine’s Day meal deal from the local supermarket (or use your recipe books and cook a home-made dish), purchase a gift voucher, gig ticket or similar, and then focus your attention on transforming your home into a lover’s paradise.
That’s easily done, when you know how:
Put on some music to set the mood
On the night itself, dust off the record player and dig out those old vinyl records, or login into your Spotify account and setup a Bluetooth speaker.
Hit play on a few love-filled classics to create an amorous atmosphere. We’re thinking of songs like John Paul Young’s “Love Is in the Air” and the “You and Me Song” by The Wannadies.
Hold off spinning a bit of Marvin Gaye until later in the night!
Have a sweet scent floating in the air
No Valentine’s at home would be complete without some candles – dot a few of them around the house.
You want the scent that comes out of them to arouse the senses and have a romantic whiff about it.
These are the sorts of smells that fit into that category:
- Rose
- Lavender
- Lilac
- Jasmine
- Honeysuckle
- Cherry Blossom
Don’t forget to get some fresh flowers too and have your log fire burning to add to the alluring aroma.
Cosy up in the conservatory
Once you’ve finished your Tiramisu for two at the dinner table, it’s time to settle down in front of the telly, with a cheeky box of chocolates and popcorn, to watch a romantic movie or two.
Do this in the conservatory where you can turn the lights down low, put on some PJ’s, recline on the sofa together and cover yourself in a cosy blanket.
It’ll make for the perfect end to the perfect night.
