Secondary Glazing - for a warmer, quieter life.
Secondary glazing involves adding an extra slim-line window in addition to your existing windows. Secondary glazing is designed to keep the heat in and the noise out. You could also save around 10% on your household bills by fitting our secondary glazing. Select from the broadest range of bespoke secondary glazing in Europe, by a manufacturer with decades of experience. Secondary Glazing is particularly suitable for use in listed buildings & conservation areas.
Adding secondary glazing systems is a simple and stylish solution involving adding an extra slim-line internal window within your window reveal or to your existing window frame. This means the external appearance of your property is not affected.
Hazlemere supply and fit a range of bespoke secondary glazed windows, each custom built to your needs. Like double glazing, it is designed to insulate your home and reduce external noise. Secondary glazed windows are available single glazed or double glazed with over 200 RAL colours to choose from and are lightweight, durable and require very little maintenance.

Horizontal Sliding Secondary Glazing
The horizontal sliding secondary glazing we supply and install can measure between 400mm to 4900mm wide and from 400mm to 1980mm high. The glazed panels slide on either wheels or hard-wearing nylon skids. In the closed position the secondary glazed panels click and latch onto the outer frame.
Our secondary glazing comes as standard in white, brown or silver colours, or it can be supplied in any one of over 200 RAL colours. Available in two, three, four and five panels plus a choice of two or three tracks. You can also select from an odd leg, luxury subframe or heavy-duty outer frame system. A variety of glass types can be specified including acoustic or minimising heat loss glass.
Vertical Sliding Secondary Glazing
Vertical sliding secondary glazing is one of the most popular types of secondary glazing, second only to the more “traditional” horizontal sliding secondary glazing. This style of secondary opens upwards sliding vertically and is perfect for sash windows.
Tilt Back Slider – designed to match existing sash windows, tilt back balanced vertical sliding secondary glazing is one of our most popular secondary glazing products.
Non Tilt Back Slider – a non tilt back, balanced vertical slider that is designed to hide behind your existing sash window. They are very similar to the extremely popular tilt back balanced vertical sliders, other than the fact that the panels on this window do not tilt back.
Side Hinged Secondary Glazing
There is an enormous variety of side hinged (or butt hinged) secondary glazing available in the UK marketplace. Hazlemere’s secondary glazing can either be butt hinged or friction hinged. The operation of butt hinges provides a large clear opening which allows for easy access for maintenance and cleaning of the existing windows.
Such openings are of benefit where the window is a means of escape. Hazlemere can supply and fit butt hinged secondary glazing in either one or two panel units. The friction hinged secondary window is ideal for situations where the window panel needs to be kept open at a chosen angle. You can combine lift out secondary glazed units with hinged secondary glazed units.
Clip In, Lift Out Secondary Glazing
Like any secondary glazing, lift out (or clip in/clip out) secondary glazing is designed to reduce noise and cut heat loss by adding another window inside, and in addition to existing external windows. Secondary glazing is easy to fit and cost effective, plus adds a vital noise barrier and much needed insulation layer in conservation areas where the existing external windows cannot be changed.
It is ideal near busy roads, airports, train lines or even where your existing “old” windows are draughty. Lift out units are available in the economy odd leg, luxury subframe systems and can be combined with side (or butt) hinged units. The lift out secondary glazing can be between 300mm to 1200mm wide and from 300mm to 1600mm high.
Fixed Secondary Glazing
The fixed secondary glazing we supply and install can be from 300mm to 1200mm wide and between 300mm to 1600mm high. If safety glass is used, be it 6mm toughened glass or 6mm laminated glass, fixed secondary glazed units can be supplied up to 1500mm wide and 2600mm high.
Fixed secondary glazing comes in three standard colours of white, brown and silver. Optionally the aluminium frames can be painted any RAL colour. The fixed unit does not come with trims. The panels are a single glazed unit that is not removable. These fixed secondary glazing window units come with pre-drilled countersunk holes, which makes them relatively easy and quick to install.
